Is that MLS on ESPN2?

Hello everyone! Forgive me for shirking my responsibilities as of late. No Power Rankings. No previews. This week just needs to be written off.

Things of interest include Mo Johnston getting the boot at RBNY. I still think that he's got a lot of potential but New York is just not a very good proving ground. Many would say it's cursed. I might agree.

The Red Bulls do pick up former LA Galaxy defender Todd Dunivant. If the Red Bulls have nothing else, they should have two very good outside backs now with Marvell Wynn on the right and Hot Toddy on the left. I think Todd was a victim of the new coach wanting to do things his way though that's a little odd since Dunivant and Yallop were both at San Jose at the same time. Suffice it to say, though, the Red Bulls are going to like having a left back that can move up the wing and has a killer throw-in.

Freddy Adu finally got his first goal of the season and the Wizards have discovered scoring in multiples. They're still not winning, however, and it was United's second win at Arrowhead this year after not winning in that stadium in ages (since 2001 I think). DC is now atop the East with 35 points and the league with 8 points between them and 2nd place FC Dallas (though United does have two more games played than the Super Hoops).

The Revs are happy to get Clint Dempsey back and he's already back in the groove of it with an assist on Taylor Twellman's game winning goal against the best of the West, FC Dallas.

Saturday, July 1

New England Revolution vs. New York Red Bulls - 6:00 p.m. - ESPN2
Kansas City Wizards vs. Los Angeles Galaxy - 8:30 p.m. - DK, HDNet, MLSLIVE.tv
Chivas USA vs. FC Dallas - 10:00 p.m. - DK, MLSLIVE.tv

Only three games this week with one of them back on ESPN2.

Look for the Revs over the Red Bulls 2-1, LA over the Wizards 2-1, and Chivas USA over FCD 3-1.

The game of the week will definitely be Chivas USA vs. FC Dallas. When will we see John O'Brien? Soon I hope.
